product description Terrace boards iCLIP THERMOJASAN

Thermally modified wood, also called thermo wood, has been available in Europe since the mid-1990s, when thermalization was developed in the Nordic countries as an ecological alternative to tropical hardwoods. As part of the heat treatment, the wood is placed in the oven, where it is baked for several hours while the temperature slowly increases to 190-210 °C. This process prevents possible cracking of deck boards used outdoors, on outdoor patios. The process of heat treatment of wood is very important with respect to the properties of the decking boards, and it is managed by only a few manufacturers in the world. Wood becomes brittle and completely dried out due to baking. This process changes the structure of the wood cells. Heat-treated decking boards are moisture-resistant and dimensionally stable. The expansion and contraction of decking boards is 5 to 10 times less than that of non-termized wood. The color of the wood is dark brown.
